For nearly a century, Mountain Mission School has rescued kids from desperate situations around the globe—from impoverished towns in Appalachian coal country, to war-torn and famine-stricken villages in Africa.
We serve as home, church and school to more than 200 kids in need who come to us from across America, and from more than 60 countries worldwide.
MMS provides each child with the foundation of first-rate academics, a loving family environment, positive social support, and a firm commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Aims of our Athletics
Since our primary mission is to rescue kids and keep them safe, our emphasis is on preparing them for life, not necessarily preparing them for the NBA. But along the way, we’ve developed a basketball program that brings out the best in our players, and we’re thankful that our teams have achieved national prominence in recent years.
While it’s always nice to win, that’s really not the point of our program. We’re here to glorify God in our all efforts. We strive to be a positive witness on the court, and we also use our athletic programs as an opportunity to serve our community through camps, clinics, and other enrichment activities.
